Honeymoon in St. Lucia
Even though it's only a three-hour fight from Miami, St. Lucia feels very far
away. It's been a trendy destination for a while, but the island has yet to be overrun
by travellers; in fact, bananas are still a bigger business on the island than tourism
and the resorts exploit the serenity of the surroundings.
Get lost in more than 19,000 acres of rainforests teaming with sweet aromatic flowers,
exotic sounds from colourful parrots and other rare species. Bananas, coconuts and
papaya thrive as far as the eye can see.
A ridge of richly adorned mountains stretches almost the length of the island rising
3,145 ft. then plunging 140 ft. below the seashore on the southern coast where eccentric
sea life, coral pinnacles and where Superman picked an immortal flower for Lois
Lane in Superman II, wows every visitor.
Visit the world's only drive-in volcano and linger in the nearby fishing village
of Soufriere. All this and more is a dramatic backdrop to magnificent unspoiled
beaches and secluded coves by real blue Caribbean waters.
This is why this lush Caribbean island with the Creole charm is a favourite for
newlyweds.
