Choosing a wedding gift for those close to you may seem like a pretty easy undertaking.
The majority of us will think that we will just need to run of to the shops, choose

never, ever that easy and often harder this way. There are several criteria to be
met before purchasing a wedding gift, so let’s go over some of them.
If Possible, Make It Personal
Firstly, is the wedding someone
close to you? Are they a relative or a personal friend? If so then whatever gift
you choose needs to reflect this fact. Try to choose something you think they will
like or appreciate.
Use what you know about the couple to choose something that will make your gift
memorable to them.
For example, if you know the couple getting married would like to go sailing then
buy a guy that can assist them with this hobby, such as, sailing lesson from a qualified
instructor.

If it is your boss getting married then for obvious reasons it pays dividends to
be careful. You don't want to appear too cheap nor want your boss to think you
have extra money available to spend on expensive gifts.
In this situation you need to know what will please your boss without spending too
much.
If you have worked with your boss for sometime then you probably know of some of
the things they do in their spare time. Or you may even know what their other way
enjoys too.
Rely on what you know. If you are sure they have a certain hobby or participate
regularly in a certain activity then use this as the theme of buying your wedding
gift.
Wedding Gifts for People You Don’t Know Very Well
Buying a gift for someone that you don't know very well but they feel they know
you well enough to invite you to their wedding is probably the easiest gift to buy.
Here the aim should be to express your happiness for the couple and wishing them
a happy wedding day. This could be a gift basket, crystal ware, or scented candles
for example.

It should not be a means for you to show your wealth or not. Therefore, you should
pick your gift to match the couple and also your budget too, as the sentiment the
